  • Improving Pain Management after Orthopedic Surgery

    Pain management is greatly improved by a multiple modality approach used by Dr. Tauro and his anesthesia/pain management team. Spinal, rather than general, anesthesia is administered as its pain numbing effect lasts longer. Next, a tiny catheter, which continuously delivers pain medication, is inserted next to the sensory nerve by an anesthesiologist using ultrasound guidance.
