Advanced Shoulder Symposium a Success

The ConMed Linvatec Advanced Shoulder Symposium that took place Saturday, March 7 in Largo, FL went very well. Participants did well in the lab mastering the new techniques that were discussed.
View the “PASTA and Full Thickness Rotator Cuff Repair using Trans Tendon Technique” video on VuMedi here. The video highlights a method of placing small 1.3mm anchors and sutures through the rotator cuff avulsion in an anatomic position while viewing from the articular side of the shoulder. The method is useful for PASTA lesions and non retracted full thickness tears
We also spent time with Linvatec development team on more ways to attract the patient’s own stem cells into ligament and tendon repairs and grafts.
Biologically improving and speeding up the healing process is the future! Stem cell implantation trials for RCR (Rotator Cuff Repair) will hopefully begin this summer. Stay tuned for more updates on this.
